Cookibods – learn about, cook & taste new foods
For Children aged 2 – 7 years
Cookibods is held at Swansea Vale Resource Centre, which is near LLansamlet, or just off Junc 44 or 45 of the M4.
It a fantastic centre with a big hall and kitchen and plenty of parking! Always a plus point with little ones in tow!
We have the run of the centre as well which is great with noisy kids as you dont have to worry about disturbing anyone!!
We run 4 sessions one weekend a month. The sessions are at 10:30 am and another at 1:30pm. Each session lasts 1 1/2 hours.
There is a different theme each month -e.g St David’s day -Welsh theme, Italian – Pizza making, Bread making and soup, Easter, Summer Fruit – Summer pud, fruit kebabs, smoothies etc.
During the session your child will have the opportunity to cook and prepare 2 recipes. There is food role play and games, art and craft activities which are linked to the theme. We have story books, a dentist to encourage brushing of teeth after eating, Discover where food comes from with a map of the world and a chance to taste. Learn about recycling, Nutritional plate and much more
Towards the end of the session all the children sit down together and sample what they have made. They are rewarded with a sticker for their good efforts! We end the session with Bubbles and singing.
There’s no pressure for your child to do any activity so they can choose in their own time what they would like to do.
We do ask for payment in advance so we can purchase the ingredients for the correct numbers. The cost of the session is £8.50 and this includes all the food and activities and children also have food to take home with them. Your first session is 1/2 price and if you recommend a friend you also get a discount.
